When patients are discharged from the hospital, our goal is to help them transition back to the comfort of their homes and return to their desired level of independence. We rigorously “track and trend” the progress of each resident to ensure the best care in a care enviroment that includes:
Physical TherapyThe treatment of physical dysfunction or injury by the use of therapeutic exercise. This includes the application of strengthening and balance programs, intended to restore or facilitate normal function or development. Ex: Restoring a patient’s ability to walk, sit, lift, stand, and improve range of motion (ROM). |
Occupational TherapyThe restoration of a patient’s ability to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) after a physical dysfunction or injury. This includes the development of fine motor skills that allow a patient to eat, dress, bathe, and function in their daily lives. Dexterity, movement control, and strength are increased to improve a patient’s quality of life. |
Speech PathologyThe treatment of conditions involving speech, swallowing, cognition, and voice. Reading, writing and vocal production are strengthened by exercises and instruction. After a stroke, head injury, or other physical trauma, Speech Therapy can help a patient learn to communicate and process information at their new functional level. |
Safety awareness and patient/caregiver education is addressed in all three disciplines. The integration of these three disciplines is crucial to a patient’s ability to return to prior level of function and/or increase his/her quality of life.
